GUM in the Red Square

GUM in the Red Square

GUM is a short for a State Department Store. Actually built as a store in 1893 this building was called Upper Trade Rows. It was the biggest store in Russia before the revolution, and the most popular after.

We are two couples who had just completed an educational tour from St Petersburg to Moscow (lectues daily, etc,).

We arranged for Arthur to guide us for three days after the tour in order to drive us to some of the WW-II battle areas outside of Moscow. Also, to see some sights of Moscow which are not on the regular tourist agenda. Arthur did a wonderful job of showing us the kinds of places we wanted to see and of adding to our insights of Russia and the Russian people. He also took us to the airport on the fourth day and made sure we were correctly on our way to catch ou flight.
We would highly recommend him to anyone needing a personal driver/guide in the Moscow area!!!
