Peter the Great

Peter the Great

This photo of giant monument to Peter the Great I've made from my car on the way to Sparrow Hills during a driving tour with my client around downtown. The monument standing on a spit in the Moscow-River stands 94m high. It has the form of a pillar standing on a granite basis foundation that is crowned by a bronze boat, with the figure of Peter the Great growing out of it. The tsar holds a large scroll in his hand. The monument was unveiled during the celebrations of Moscow's 850th anniversary and was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian navy (September 5th, 1997).

Arthur was a fabulous guide, translator and photographer. It was our first time in Moscow and we felt like we were able to experience a great deal of the history and culture of Russia. We spent time in Red Square, touring the Kremlin, driving to Sergiyev Posad in the Golden Ring, seeing the amazing metro stations, and much more. Arthur took great care of us and made touring simple and fun – his suggestions for our itinerary were spot on. His knowledge of the history and details about each place we visited was amazing. And, he captures every moment so beautifully – it is such a bonus to have all the photos of our experience. We fell in love with Moscow and owe much of our great experience to Arthur. We highly recommend him.
