1 day before Final in Luzhniki

1 day before Final in Luzhniki

The view on the sport stadium "Luzhniki" in one day before the final of UEFA Champions League between Manchester United and Chelsea in Moscow. This picture I took with my clients during a night tour around the most famous landmarks of Moscow from Sparrow Hills (former Lenin's Hills). Right in front of Sparrow Hills you can overview great panorama of Luzhniki in about a kilometer from other side of Moskva-Reka (Moscow-River) from a height about 85 meter from level of the river. It is there a great panoramic view of the center of Moscow city from South-West and Moscow State University built by Stalin in 50s (one of famous "Seven Sisters") located on the top of the hill.

Moscow has never staged a European Cup final before, made excellent job to prepare and organize the most easterly final in the tournament's history. The building of Luzhniki stadium was built in 1956 and previous reconstruction was here in 2001-2002 when they added new roof to the stadium. On May 21 2008 were presented about 80 thousands football lovers watching the final of UEFA Champions League between two English teams Chelsea and Manchester United.

I had a couple of requests for my day trip to Moscow which didn’t include the normal touristy activities but I also wanted to see the famous sites in the red square. Arthur managed to incorporate my requirements and include all the famous sites in one day. The day didn’t feel rushed and everything was well timed and planned. The way the different activities were connected flowed effortlessly. He recommended other activities for me to do on other days and different types of cuisines to try. I particularly liked the Ukrainian restaurant and he took the most beautiful photos of me despite the bitterly cold winter temperature in Moscow. Arthur is a fantastic guide!!!
