Laser effects on the MGU

Laser effects on the MGU

Yesterday, on the first day of 2008, I and my wife Olga decided to drive around the city to take some pictures of winter holiday decorations. I choose the same route which I usually take to show my clients the most famous Moscow landmarks (I call this tour "Moscow By Night"). In spite of that the temperature last evening was quite low (about -10 C) it were a lot of people everywhere (especially on the Red Square, of course) hanging around and taking pictures.... As I promised before, I took some interesting pictures of Christmas trees and New Year decorations and also the major attractions of Moscow city.. I hope to post some of them soon... Now the story about the current picture...

When we came to Sparrow Hills, I and Olga were greatly surprised by spectacular laser effects on the building of Moscow State University (MGU) which is one of famous seven skyscrapers built in Moscow in mid of 20th century by order of Stalin. Now, from a distance, the building of MGU at night looks alike Christmas tree with these bright green laser beams, very different and interesting.. In 5-10 min they change directions to make a different "shape". Pretty cool invention! :-)

PS: Happy New 2008 Year!

With BEST Regards,

This was my first trip to Moscow,I hired Aurthur's services via internet and it was the best decision I could have made. Authur was able to relocate me to a more suitable hotel, after my "knowledgeable" travel agent booked me into totally inapropriate surrounds. Authur's extensive knowledge of the city and it's history made my stay even more memorable, as I was interested in seeing all the sights, not just the ones in the brochures.I was picked up from my hotel on time every time, and was not only shown the sights, but was taken to some very interesting and enjoyable restuarants and night spots, something that only some one who is local would know.More importantly, as I was travelling alone, Arthur's conversation and presence made me feel more at ease, as he was able to translate on my behalf in all manner of social and non-social interactions. I would certanly recommend that any one thinking of travelling to Moscow should contact Arthur before travelling, so he can point them in the right direction as to where to stay etc... I had such a good time that I now count Arthur as one of my friends.
