On the way to New Jerusalem

On the way to New Jerusalem

I made the trip to the New Jerusalim with my repeat client Annie Budz right on the date of my birthday. The splendid New Jerusalem Resurrection Monastery monastery is placed in Istra town (formely Voskresensk, or city of Recurraction on Eng) about 50 km from Moscow city on the Istra River.

I took a lot of pictures in this monastery using my 2 cameras (the old and new), some of pictures are very good and I am going to tell you more history about this place step by step when uploading the next photos...

This picture I took from the distance more then 1 km using my new camera Olympus E-500, telephoto lenses and tripod.

Every memorable act in the history of the world is a triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it because it gives any challenge or any occupation, no matter how frightening or difficult, a new meaning. Without enthusiasm you are doomed to a life of mediocrity but with it yu can accomplish miracles." (Og Mandino author and speaker)
This is in dedication to Arthur who became my friend. He looked after me and took care of me with great care and tenderness. Who would have thought that as a famale traveling alone and landing in Moscow could trust the hands of a stranger to take her to her hotel. That strange man ended up being one of the best experiences of my trip. Besides being my driver, tour guide, educator, interpreter, photographer and mediator, he was kind and one of the most humble human beings I have ever come across. His passion for his work beamed through with his enthusiasm for his country as well as having the love for people and life. The tears we left behind were a symbol that there are such good people on this earth. Thank you so much for making my trip such a wonderful experience!
