Monument to Peter the Great

Monument to Peter the Great

The monument to Peter the Great standing on a spit in the Moscow-River stands 94m high. It has the form of a pillar standing on a granite basis foundation that is crowned by a bronze boat, with the figure of Peter the Great growing out of it. The tsar holds a large scroll in his hand. The monument was unveiled during the celebrations of Moscow's 850th anniversary and was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian navy (September 5th, 1997).

Arthur was wonderful to have with us. His knowledge of Moscow was amazing. His passion for his job was evident as he captures the moments in the pictures he takes. I would definitely go back to Moscow with Arthur as our guide to show us more of his beautiful country.
