Domes of the Terem Palace

Domes of the Terem Palace

The Kremlin is the historical, spiritual and political heart of Moscow and the city's most famous landmark and tourist attraction.
In 1635-1662 the constructors of the royal Terem Palace, the craftsmen Bazhen Ogurtsov, Trefil Sharutin, Antip Konstantinov and Larion Ushakov, erected the Verkhospassky Cathedral (Higher Cathedral of the Savior). Like all domestic churches of the Terem Palace, it has a 17th century copper roof and 11 small drums with gilded cupolas.
This part of the Kremlin is particularly striking, with beautiful shining tiles in bays and on drums, and an ornamental frieze; inside the cathedral, there are extremely valuable icons painted by Fyodor Zubov, a carved wooden iconostasis and Royal Doors decorated with embossed silver.

I had a couple of requests for my day trip to Moscow which didn’t include the normal touristy activities but I also wanted to see the famous sites in the red square. Arthur managed to incorporate my requirements and include all the famous sites in one day. The day didn’t feel rushed and everything was well timed and planned. The way the different activities were connected flowed effortlessly. He recommended other activities for me to do on other days and different types of cuisines to try. I particularly liked the Ukrainian restaurant and he took the most beautiful photos of me despite the bitterly cold winter temperature in Moscow. Arthur is a fantastic guide!!!
